About BolaBum
An artistic practice, a product, and a growing community
An artistic practice, a product, and a growing community
“WE” are the performance artist a.k.a “Cris”
“WE” are also the dual nature inside all of us, that needs both rest and productivity. BolaBum emerged from a moment in life that demanded a way to rebalance both.
During a trip to Perú, where my < 3 is from, I encountered these portable beach puffs. Something clicked.
And the rest they say, is their/story...
More than just a product, BolaBum is rooted in a way of life shaped by long summers on the Spanish coastline and a culture that values downtime, leisure, and shared rhythms.
A Bolabum is both object, and situation:
a soft structure for reclining, gathering and contemplating — alone or together.
And as an artist I approach it as a soft, living, social sculpture.
BolaBum is evolving through community oriented gatherings, workshops, and informal hangouts — in parks, beaches, and cities.
The aim is to create opportunities for connection, exchange and new perspectives.
These are moments for being together differently, outside of productivity - creating spaces to slow down,
and, collectively, chill.the.fuck.out.
BolaBum is an evolving project.
It seeks to build a sustainable practice and community grounded in fair structures, ecological responsibility, and slower forms of production.
At its core, BolaBum is about building bridges:
between Perú, where the object originates and is made, and Spain, where it is activated and shared;
between different cultural contexts and subcultures;
between art and life,
between making and resting
